Groove Kitchen is a DJ studio and cultural space based in Basel, Switzerland. It provides a professional and community-driven environment where DJs and artists can develop their craft, record sessions and connect with others.
Rooted in Afro and culturally influenced electronic music, Groove Kitchen combines studio production with meaningful exchange. The space supports artistic growth while strengthening local and international networks.
Our format
At the core of Groove Kitchen are curated studio sessions.
Selected DJs perform in a focused studio setting. Sessions are recorded and published digitally, allowing artists to present their sound in a professional and consistent format.
In addition, Groove Kitchen hosts listening sessions and community gatherings where artists share music and perspectives. The focus is on conversation, reflection and growth.
Studio rental
The studio is also available for rent and can be used for DJ practice, recording or content production. Book here
Who we are
thegroovyroomdjz
We are Kaeella and DJY 80, also known as @thegroovyroomdjz, a DJ Couple from Basel, Switzerland. Our connection as a couple shapes everything we do, in music and in life. Our sound draws from the club culture of South Africa. It is deep, soulful and built on groove.
Groove Kitchen grew naturally from this journey. We wanted to create a place where that same energy could live beyond the dancefloor, a home for DJs, artists and listeners who believe in movement, community and self-expression. Our purpose is to keep the culture alive, to share what we love and to give others the freedom to create.
